I’m glad you’ve spoken with the Community Media Center. A few days ago I wondered if there might be a fit there for the forgr project. A potential scenario could involve the forgr project starting up under the auspices of the CMC, then, after finding its legs moving out on its own. In addition to being an extablished organization with goals of community development, technology training and access, it also has a near-west-side location, which I suspect may be close to many potential clients.
Have you considered calling GVSU’s School of Public and Non-profit Administration? They have training sessions and all sorts of stuff. I’m a graduate (of the Public Administration side), and they’ve got good people there.
I haven’t called them yet, I’m hoping to make calls tomorrow morning, and leave messages on people’s voicemail systems all over town. I’ll add them on as a potential resource. Thanks for that tip… If you think of anyone else, you know where to find me.
I talked with Mark Hoffman from GVSU’s School of Public and Non-profit Administration yesterday, I’ll post notes from that conversation soon too. He offered to volunteer for the program once it gets started.
Mark was my academic advisor. He’s a good guy.
